How did the MCC form? |
What is the purpose of the MCC? |
In 2022, a group of students had the idea to form a student-oriented club for students, whether or not they can be physically on a campus. The Club was formed and continues to provide services to the local Canterbury University student body, and in the wider community
Live SupportWe help with navigating the structures of institutions by providing realtime and constant support by email and mobile. We also ensure to uphold a fast service level agreement and will work to ensure that community is a reality for all students and members of the club.
|
The MCC promotes itself as a club within the University of Canterbury and in the wider community. All members of the club and the wider population are treated with respect, fairness and equality and the club aims to ensure that campus is a place of community for all students, whatever capacity.
What are the goals of the MCC?The MCC aims to bring community and togetherness to the wider community but particularly to students at the University of Canterbury. There are many distance students at any point in time in a place of study, or isolated people in the community. We aim to unite as a collective.
|
The MCC is a vital organisation for our community, we're going to aim to have excellent events, competitions and prizes and build community.
- Tyrone Foster, President.
All the Tools You Need to Succeed
It's not easy being a distance student, sometimes it can be hard to communicate with the right person in the right way. Sometimes it can be hard to know who to contact, or why to contact someone. There are many institutions and stakeholders that require navigation in 2022. We want to help alleviate this pressure by providing a community and allowing our members to share conversations and experiences to build a strong organisation that can effect positive social change.
|
If you're thinking about joining the MCC, please do! If you are a student of the University of Canterbury, just email or text your student ID (eg 45631285), email address, cellphone number and first and last name to [email protected], or 0220401085.
We know how hard it can be to have to work remotely, during pandemics, or by choice and we welcome you to our community for fun times and support, whatever your background or identity. |
